What a day!

Very surprised to see Eileen BACK! Imagine the moment u stepped into the room 206, u hear a crazy girl with a crazy voice shouting ur name so LOUDLY! SURPRISED and SHOCKED is one thing, but for a moment i REALLY thought i saw a ghost. LOL.

And maybe because of her influence, everyone start to become a bit high and crazy, especially during dinner. Haha, just came back only, and she start to 疑神疑鬼, anyhow create "scandals" ah. And cause so many misunderstandings! ! ! In the end, i had to personally "verify" the "news" myself. So embarrassing.
( Although along the way i did say out some things... which i already should have long ago...)

Phew. what an happening day.. .

Attended the career fair in ntu. Hmm. Come to "SEE" of it, we actually have a lot of choices didn't we? haha. But the problem is that we are "picky" in a way. Of course, who wouldn't want to have an ideal job? Generally, i think it all comes down to only a few categories.

  1. Low passion in job, high pay, high stability, high chance of getting in. (government sectors mainly)
  2. Medium passion in job, medium pay, medium stability, medium chance of getting in. (Ur own area of specialisation)
  3. High passion in job, medium pay, low stability, low chance of getting in. ( those THAT u REALLY interested in, at least to me)
Surprisingly, most of my close friends had decided to join option 1 or even if not, had thoughts of going in. Hmm. Guess everyone is "practical" in a way. Haha. ( or too bad, we are just "brought up" to think THIS way...) Some had chosen option 2. And none chose option 3 huh, as far as i know. Except for me? lol. Decided to give it a try even though i know chances of getting in are rather low. (Saw a few alumni whom i know, came back to apply for the same company. hmm if they cant even get in after a few years of trying, how high IS my chances anyway?)

But then . . .

I WILL still give it a try. Even if failed, at least i know I TRIED. No regrets! :)

Ever since the first choices that i made in JC, i already knew what i want or dun want to do in my future...

Study to live and NOT live to study.
Work to live and NOT live to work.

It is my wish that i can actually do things that i really like and not do things because i had to. The passion. The interest. AND not to forget those "simple pleasures" in life too. :)

Let us work hard, not purely for our professional goals, but for a better life. . .

Was doing a bit of spring cleaning when i came across a pile of letters and cards. Cards sent to me by friends and relatives during christmas, chinese new year etc, all the way back to 1998!! Haha, yeah, i do keep them till now. :) Even got one handwritten cny wishes written in chinese calligraphy!! haha. :D However after re-reading all the cards, then i noticed actually some cards are sent by the same person consecutively for a few years without fail. So touched. (And i never bothered to send back :P ) A pity now that we did not keep much in contact though. (now do i appreciate the effort and insincerity they put when they sent those cards. ..) Looking at the dates of the cards, there are really very few that are sent during recent years. Maybe snail mail is not that popular now.... :(

As such, i decided to revive that "tradition!" Hopefully. Because when i start asking for postal addresses around, i get very "weird" responses. They will get suspicious and 问东问西, like what i want their addresses for? (And i thought its pretty obvious leh and i SO kind to do that) =_='' ...

After a while, then i thought of what could be the reason. . . Dont worry, i not going to go ur house and 拜年 if that is what u are worrying about (unless i am invited). LoL. :D

Last sun went for prawning with pong song pple. Great to see everyone again! :) Prawning! Second time after the deli club's trip of prawning. I did managed to hook one in less than a minute when we started. A great start but seem like i dont really have a"talent" for prawning eh. Cause that prawn is my first and last le. haha. Maybe they can sense that my "杀气"很重吧. lol. After all, what we catched, we going to bbq them later anyway. Still remember the "pro" catcher opposite of us who managed to catch many many prawns. And yeah, there was this "king prawn" too! Too bad, it escaped from our "hooks". :( At the end, still not bad, one prawn for each person. haha. :)

Been almost 2 weeks since school started.

A wishes gathering in school eating sushi and pizza. Come to think of it, think its the only remaining surviving ss group that still include the seniors in gatherings. haha. Anyway, this gathering is also partly because Elephant who is back from tawian! At first, was kinda expecting a drastic change in her. Looks, appearance, character etc. But... not much difference leh! lol. Still recognisable its her. haha. Dunno why i always have the impression that pple once go overseas for long will change when return. Or maybe its not the physical characteristics that is changed. Maybe its the mentality. Especially.

Taking my last elective, Hollywood to Bollywood. Haha. Weird right. I dun say its easy especially when it comes to film art. So "artistic". Just that having 1 hour lect and 2 hours of watching movies/films is BETTER than listening to 3 hours straight of lectures. Yeah.

Another 2 more group projects this semester. Hopefully, its not another hrm style again, for Engineers and Society module. (Speaking of HRM, Michael Heng really left the school!! And i thought its only a rumour! Argh. Should have "pass down" the EEE famous "touture+ism" to the juniors ma. And the WORSE thing is they changed the syllabus. That means my $50+ textbooks i bought last sem are of no use now. No one wants or needs to buy them now. Wasted!!!) On the bright side, at least for my 2 groups currently, still have some reliable and familiar friends like lao ting and sj. :)

Year 2010. Need to make some serious plans too AND soon.
My future? :\

Yesterday, under junwei's invitation (so last minute!), went to republic poly to watch NTU IVP match. He's playing floorball. Its one of the sports that i never heard of till recently. haha. Very much similiar to hockey. Went with CT, and although we were late when we reached there, the match still haven started. Somehow i knew it wont start on time de anyway. lol.

Floorball. NTU vs SIM. A energy intensive game, 3 rounds of 15 mins, players have to sub one another every couple of minutes as its tiring. Imagine sprinting all the time! A really exciting match, especially when the offensive junwei scored the first goal! It was SO beautiful!! haha. He was really good! Not bad not bad. However, SIM evened the score not long after that. At the spectators's stand, can hear from the NUS team commented that our goalkeeper is being careless to let the ball in. (it actually slipped in between the keeper's legs actually.) What a pity. The last 15 mins became the most exciting after that. A lot of offensive(plus some agressiveness) moves from both teams. Many many nice attempts at scoring too. Too bad, its still a draw in the end. Good PLAY though! *Thumbs UP!* :D

Its been a long time since i ever watched a sports competition LIVE. The last one i remembered is during my sec sch days, table tennis. haha. Oh yeah can still remember NTU floorball team's CHEER.

WHO DO YOU PLAY FOR???!!! NTU!!!

Simple yet inspiring. haha. NICE! :)

First week of 2010.

First tuition of the year. Same kid again, but when i entered his room once more, surprised that there are more "collections" of toys now. His parents really dote on him a lot. :) And also realised that 2 of my tuition kids actually went to the same sec sch!! haha, what a coincidence! :) MAybe they will meet each other ...somehow, someday. hehe.

First day at school. Will be my last semester le. More worried about the completion of fyp and finding a job upon graduation. The future looks rather gloomy to me, maybe because there are too many uncertainties. Hmm. (maybe its also makes life more 'exciting"? cause u dunno what will happen. haha)

First wishes meetup of the year. (notice i never use the word "gathering" cause i think the people present is not enough to be considered as a gathering. haha.) First time in an all girls school(CGS) watching their cca orientation performance cum campfire, thanks to yn. She is devoted to her npcc in sec sch till now! haha. The moment we guys enter the school, we can already feel the "stares" and attention we get from the female students there. They look at us as if we are "aliens" and as if the word" MALE" never exists in their dictionary. LOL. But then for the first few moments/minutes, i REALLY feel so uneasy and uncomfortable. We watched their performances by their various ccas and hmm, nice!! What most surprises me most is the students's super duper high spirit and enthusiasm! So united! And their unlimited energy!! :) Even at my sec sch, i dun remember seeing such admirable spirit. haha. When we are about to leave the school, got stopped by a teacher for a routine check. =_='' (do we look like big bad wolves? lol =X)

First movie outing with 4 generations of rsphi. haha. Watched the movie 听说. Hear Me. Nice show!! heh.

Like those last words at the ending of the movie:

爱和理想都是很奇妙的事,

不用听,

不用说,

更不用被翻译,

就能感受得到。

(想一想, 其实快乐也是一样。^_^)

Thinking back, looking back at the juniors, especially those that i "recommended" inside, felt glad that they ENJOYED themselves in rsphi. Cause i dont want them to feel that i "dragged" them into a cca that they dislike and then "blame" me for it. Haha. As a senior, i already showed my support and stayed long enough le... hmm. What matters the most i think ... is that the SPIRIT is passed on, from one generation to another. Well, even though i may NOT be part of it anymore. :)
