Yum Cha~

Hipee! The holidays are finally here~ Yeah!

Just recently, i met up with kh and bought his ps2. Now i can finally fufil my long awaited "fanatasy" dream games! Today, met up with jh and Sb to eat yum cha high tea buffet at chinatown. Yes, yum cha! One of my favourite buffet places!(other than sakura) But sb also very funny, he knew that we going to eat buffet todae and yet he ate a heavy meal just not long before it. In the end, every mouthful that he ate will show a kind of "tortured" face...=.= Jh also not a very strong eater too...one soup and one porridge and he cant eat any more. In the end, i ate the most. Which reminds me, last time we ate yum cha buffet with AI gang of friends, we really ate from opening hours till the last order timing! we are really good eaters! :) haha! ^_^ Wonder when will we eat like this again... :)

This week will be also quite busy for me too. Although my exams are over, but the primary and secondary school exams are not over yet!~ And one of my tuition kid's parent even wants me to tution her kid every nite. >.< Speaking of this kid, i been tutoring him for ... 2 years le. but he always 有事没事 cancel tution as and when he likes. However teaching him is easy, cause hes really SLACK. Everytime, he would says:"Kor, rest for 5 minutes." very frequently. 拿他没办法。Even his mother also stands on his side. A pity hes not hardworking and very lazy, think he gonna fail his exams. And u guess what he says? "I will failed badly this mid year exam,, then passed my exams in final year, then i will get $100 for good progress award again!" oh my, and trust me, he really did that last year and he actually got the money. But i cant believe he wants to try it again this year. I advised him not to, its risky but dunno whether will he listen or not... kids nowadays...sigh...*fingers crossed* =X

18th April...

A while ago just finished my elective paper: HC805: Directed Readings of modern chinese song lyrics. After i handed in the paper, i had a feeling i gonna miss this elective very much. Its indeed one of the most enriching modules i had taken, which teaches me a lot of insights into chinese song lyrics as well learnt a lot of old classic songs, which can be very nice!(minus the historical telling part). The only other elective that i had already taken and very enjoyable is the BS803:Science or Fiction?Biology in popular media. Watching movies every lesson with friends, the familiar smell of LT1A, the only female lecturer that i had ever had, easy paper to score(since i had biology background), they all bring back fond memories. Those nice days....... :)

*Want to see who is my lecturer for Chinese song lyrics? Liang Wen Foo. The first person to sing and recieve flowers is him. This song is a singapore classic and nice~ =) *

*I wanna watch the SPOP shows...arghh..but i missed them all on tv...*

Now i am in Hall 14, staying at jw hall since tmr got analogue paper too. Alone. well, no one want to accompany me tonight. :( Haha, when i was studying, recieved a funny sms from yf. He said that analogue electronics paper is still so hard to study even with tips given, dunno how many EEE students will contemplate suicide this night.LoL, hope he is not one of them. This may be the last time i can stay at hall ... since jw will be having IA next sem and not staying at hall. But "someone" will be staying near hall 14 next semester leh ...

Well, back to sleep!

exam fever....

Well, its this time of the semester again! The dreaded exams. Year 2 liao, exams, Cas...already used to it and hATED it! cause i never scored well in it before...=.=

Todae just finished my first paper and had the same old feeling i had for the past few semester exams. Exams are never gonna be easy one huh? And what i dislike is the moment straight away after papers, you can hear people discussing the questions and their answers. I mean, the paper is over le ma, why still bother talk about it? So what? To make sure you got it correct and makes u feel good and happy? Or when u knows that u got it wrong and made careless mistakes, then brood over it? (especially the ah tiongs, discussing every SINGLE questions and they will moan about their tiny errors that they made while "we" struggled for our fate in it.) Thats why i always kept quiet after the papers or change conversation topics on the way back home. ..

2 weeks more... must 必胜!

12th April 08

Oh no...my blog starting to collect dust...long time never update. :P Haha, if i dont update soon, spider webs will start to grow too. 0_0

Well, besides studying and mugging "hard", been watching a lot of small and big movies.
Got one MEET THE SPARTANS. It a humourous and lame show which totally changes the original "300" into a comical and "modernised" 300 movie. If you want some relaxation, this movie is not bad, provided you had watched 300 before or else u cant really follow the plot. There are many special guests and celebrities appearances too inside the movie too. American Idol jueges, ghost rider, PAris hilton, deal or no deal....many more.. However, there is one "debate and scolding and cursing" part in the show which i dont catch really well, cause its mostly American sense of humor. The best part i like is the scene where they supposed to battle at the HOT gates changed into a dancing and cheering competition. Haha, the dance is nice and cant imagine King Leonidas can danced that well too!~ The dance is what i enjoyed the most. They even came out with the soundtrack: "Xerxes Mix". Lol. Overall, a great entertaining show but i still prefer the original 300. :)

Next got the 长江七号. Well, i expect it to be very nice but.... a bit below my expectations. Its not that funny(like stephen chow's past movies) and not much to see except that cute alien toy. Haha, suitable for kids ba and maybe a good family show. There is a line which the kid said in the begining: 我要做一个穷人,因为爸爸说只要有骨气,不吹牛,不打架,努力读书, 就算穷, 到那里都会受到尊敬的。These words are quite inspiring! =) Stephen Chow also kept saying in the movie: 虽然我们穷,但我们不去偷,不去抢,不属于我们的东西,我们不去拿。。。我们不。。。Hmm...welll said!!! (this mindset had been implanted into me since young too...by who?grandparents?teachers? *cant remember...*) Well, other that, the alien toy part is the most interesting then...

Another most recent movie i watched is the 江山美人。hmm, not very good, personally i think. few battle scenes, few action, all good guys die in the end, in the end what did she get? 江山 and 美人 is actually the view from a girl point, that is Kelly in the show. She is the queen and between her kingdom and her lover, she need to choose ONLY one and will lose the other one.

Well, actually, she dont really have a choice i think...

The last movie is the 夺帅. Now, this is my all time favourite type of movies. Actioned packed, mafia, shooting, fighting, guns, swords, police and thieves....haha, this is my type of movies that i always liked. WEll, as i said, it is a typical type of storyline about the fight betweeen mafia and police etc...nothing special but i just like the action. :)

Okay, back to studying for now...for those who reading my blog now, Good Luck and All the BEst for exams! Jia You ba, 各位!^_^

The EyE

I had been watching quite a number of downloaded movies but "The Eye" left me with quite a deep impression. After watching this, i noticed quite a major difference between asian and western horror movies. ASian horror movies like to spread their "fear" through bloody and gore scenes while western movies concentrate more on their visual and sound effects of "ghosts". In terms of endings, most Asian horror movies like to leave their endings in open air, that is without a clear answer or finish to its ending, ESPECIALLY korean ones.( super "disgusting, bloody" and no COMPLETE ending.) Western ones ma, never watch a lot, but so far at least got a complete ending. In The Eye, there are no bloody scenes but a lot of screaming and ghosty parts(thats what i mean by visual and sound effects). Hmm, the most eerie part(i Think) is the one where she look at the mirror and what she saw was NOT herself... *shivers...*

Storyline:
Sydney Wells (JESSICA ALBA) is an accomplished, independent, Los Angeles-based concert violinist. She is also blind, and has been so since a childhood tragedy. As our story opens, Sydney undergoes a double corneal transplant, a surgery she has waited her whole life to have, and her sight is restored. After the surgery, neural ophthalmologist Dr. Paul Faulkner (ALESSANDRO NIVOLA) helps Sydney with the difficult adjustment, and with the support of her older sister Helen (PARKER POSEY), Sydney learns to see again. But Sydney's happiness is short-lived as unexplainable shadowy and frightening images start to haunt her. Are they a passing aftermath of her surgery, Sydney's mind adjusting to sight, a product of her imagination, or something horrifyingly real? As Sydney's family and friends begin to doubt her sanity, Sydney is soon convinced that her anonymous eye donor has somehow opened the door to a terrifying world only she can now see.

One interesting thing is that she can see some ghostly image almost like "death god". Whenever she saw one of them, it means that someone will die near them. What happen if a lot of them appear at the same time? ;) Furthermore, what she had been seeing all the while has a meaning or message left behind by her donor. And by a irony twist, after completing her donor last wish, she lost her sight again. IS this a blessing in disguise? I think so...
