25th Oct... Celebration!~

Sat was the celebration dinner for the photographi particpants and volunteers too. But before that, met earlier with a few friends to go "walk walk" in the town. Speaking of it, i haven go town for a very long time le...(got a few months?). Think everyone quite busy and no one to "jio" me out. haha. We met earlier at the mrt but everyone was late. Being LATE was REALLY Singaporeans's characteristics sia ...=.= Had to admit that and 认命 after all these years. Even with different groups of friends also like that. HAHA. Cause we are late and the weather is SO HOT , we just decided to stay at heeren shopping mall and enjoy the cool air con, seeing the exhibition and listening to free music at the HMV. Saw Fish Leong new album there...tempted to buy but still a bit exp now. Grr...endure..wait a bit longer.

We had our celebration dinner at the Thai Express upstairs at heeren. Food was not bad, especially my thai chicken rice, quite a big portion of meat. =D Not all HIs turn up but those who did got a completion of certificate from our centreheads. haha. Seniors got a few join us for dinner and juniors ma, the "usual" three only. This dinner marks the end of our farrago photographi programme and to some of us... the end of service contract! =P

After dinner, Isaac suggested E-Max to play Wii and other console games. At first we booked a small room there with 20 of us crowded inside(including HIs). Turned up that NONE of us know how to play Wii and everyone is like trying to figure how to operate it. Anyhow swing and press the remote control. When finally we DID figure it out, we got "chased" away because the room limit is only 9 persons. :( WJ tried to bargain and argue with the manager and asked for refund. hmm, now i know he got a "tough" side despite being a quiet person. :0 We managed to get another bigger room but then only about half stayed behind. This room dun have Wiis but have 4 PCs and 2 Xbox. the guys mostly "hog" on the Xboxes while the gals play maplestory, facebook etc. Eileen and Meiying wanted to try play dota and asked me to "teach" them. (Well, zy was busying playing xbox and left me alone to tutor them, hmph). huishan, kelvin siew and jonathan like a bit left out leh...while we happily playing games.... feel a bit bad. =X But it was cheap, $2 per person only. =)

KungFu Panda

Yup...watched also another movie. (haha, to destress!) And kungfu Panda sure is nice!~ Funny and entertaining to me. Liked this movie a lot. :):):)
A bit of introduction of this movie:

"Kung Fu Panda" features Po the Panda, a lowly waiter in a noodle restaurant, who is a kung fu fanatic but whose shape doesn't exactly lend itself to kung fu fighting. In fact, Po's defining characteristic appears to be that he is the laziest of all the animals in ancient China. That's a problem because powerful enemies are at the gates, and all hopes have been pinned on a prophesy naming Po as the "Chosen One/Dragon Warrior" to save the day. A group of martial arts masters are going to need a black belt in patience if they are going to turn this slacker panda into a kung fu fighter before it's too late.

Po is a panda, and he lives in China. He is too busy dreaming about being a Kung Fu master being celebrated by his town folks, which consists of adorable pigs, rabbits and other cuddly animals. However, Po is also a lazy and sluggish panda. He has been working in a noodle shop all his life. His father is a duck (i wonder why and how come), and he collects action figures of his Kung Fu idols, the legendary Furious Five.

Despite collecting action figures of his favourite heroes too,he is still leading a less than glamourous life. While that’s beside the point, a panda can dream, can’t he? :) And it is only in a movie (an animated one too) that losers like Po can become a hero, just by believing in yourself.

The 88-minute animated feature is the latest offering from Dreamworks with its jokes and antics coming fast and furious at the audience. It doesn’t matter whether you are young or old (the important thing is to be young at heart, get it?:D ), because you will enjoy this family friendly show immensely.

Accuracy of Death aka Sweet Rain (shinigami no seido)

Finally.... a short break from my tests and quzies to watch a movie downloaded long ago, but never have the time to watch until now. :P

A bit of introduction of this movie:

Synopsis: Adapted from the bestselling novel by Kotaro Isaka “The Accuracy of Death”. Chiba (Takeshi Kaneshiro) appears seven days before a person dies an unexpected death. His job is to observe the person for seven days, and then decide either to ‘execute’ or ‘pass over’. Getting his work quickly out of the way, he goes to the listening booth of a CD shop and indulges in his favorite pastime, listening to ‘humanity’s greatest invention’: music. He is...a Shinigami.

With everything to be beautifully visualized on screen, the cinematography by Takahide Shibanushi showcases the melancholic showers, the gritty mafia showdowns and the withering sunflowers to great effect. These complement the mood of the romance fantasy movie and will please viewers with a sense of aesthetics greatly. Watch out also for some simple but effective computer generated effects which will make you suspend all beliefs and immerse yourself in the beautiful other world.

With the pretty images in place, the next thing that works well in this movie is its well articulated themes about life. What defines happiness? What does it take to give up on happiness? What makes one faithful in what he believes in? What makes one’s life fulfilling and complete at the end of the day? Sure, these are romanticized notions that some cynics may consider a waste of constructive time, but these are the finer details of life which busy urbanites like us should slow down and take note of. These three tales bring together these messages and make you look at the big picture of things in a lyrical manner.

The gorgeous theme song “Sunny Day” is also nice. :)

So... What do u think about death?

Do You Dare? NTU blood challenge....(donate blood+donate time :P)

Yesterday went for blood donation organised by the Red Cross Society in NTU. haha, got wj, mango and sh went with me. Rather surprised that sh joined in too, must be wj put in quite a lot of effort persuading her. We went to the SAC close to 5pm which is almost the closing hour of the donation drive. Haha, managed to see Benjamin there! Wj and mango first time donating blood, so they got the "please be nice to me. First time donor" sticker. ANd a pity that sh cant donate blood in the end cause shes not feeling well. :/ After we registered, we then found out one thing. The queue was SUPER LONG! SIANZ. Saw huijuan and yihua there too. Now, this is problematic. Wj got bs class and TEST at 7 and mango have work and need to leave at 7 too. Judging by the queue, most likely they cant make it in time. ... We registered online so by right should have the priority queue given to us. But from Ben's explanation, some kind of accident happened in the earlier part of the day and resulted in the "chain of delays".( Hmm, tried to ask Ben to let us "cut" queue but cant. :P) In the end, i asked both of them to go eat first before donating blood. Hopefully, it helps. At 7 sharp, finally it was our turn. Wj and mango looked a bit stressed and i thought maybe they feel nervous or scared since they are first time donors. But ...NO...haha...they are stressed BECAUSE they are late. Especially, mango! He keeps squeezing the "poor pumpkin" in his palm, trying to let his blood flow faster and hope it ends fast! I was the first one among them to start donating yet i was the last to finish. Haha. Not my fault leh, maybe the nurse inject too much 麻醉药(?), my hand feels very numb. Cant even have the strength to fully squeeze the "pumpkin". As a result, my blood flows very slowly...takes such a long time to fill the blood bag. So slow, that sometimes i was wondering is my blood flowing or not. =.= HAha. Speaking of blood, never expect even blood donation this time got "inflation" too! Last time, they only need 3 tubes of samples for testing purposes, now they need 4 tubes! Oh, My poor blood... =X By the time ,we finished, it was 7.30pm. Oops. =X

*The "poor" pumpkin we keep squeezing *

*i saved others...but who will save me? =.= *

After donating blood, rushed to ADM to help farargians in cutting of the mounting boards for our exhibition. Good experience, i mean not cutting of boards, but get a chance to visit the school of ADM. The whole school feel very deserted(maybe its at night le?), not many people can be seen. The room we are working in is quite "bare", only a couple of big tables and many "artisitc" art pieces done by others. Strange, just as aya mentioned, there is no CLOCK and easy to lost track of time. haha. Also saw Joel. He cut his hair! haha, looks quite different now. We also went to the computer lab to print out photos and "wow"! Big screen monitors and MAC Computers! O_O ADM is full of "good" stuff...$_$ Besides the usual few of us and a few seniors there helping, hmm..., "w.y" was also there to help. Come to think of it, he been "appearing" and helping us in our farrago sessions consecutively and recently.(Why would he be so helpful?) At first i thought it was nothing but then...again maybe not. HAHA. managed to clarify with huiying and i was right! Hmph! Hope i was not the last one to know. =P Anyway, i shouldn't be too nosey, got extra manpower also good. Hope he will help us too on coming sat. HAhahaa.

The aftermath...
The night after blood donation, i got a dream , a nightmare! I dreamt that i FAILED my Maths CA badly! Scared me so much that i woke up, thinking it was real! My maths CA is tomorrow. Is this an omen? or 日有所思,夜有所梦? It feels so REAL that i cancelled my ushering job for the conferment ceremony today so that i can rush home and study more! Maybe i feel better that way. ...*prays*... =X
Study...study...study...

Last session of photographi08

Today is the last photo sharing session where the HIs explain the captions and the final 4 photos that they are going to display at the exhibition. Some of the photos are really nice and good work everyone!~ :) Since its the last session of photographi, I thought the "finale" dinner will be today but its actually 2 weeks later after we setup the exhibition and ready for display. Even so, i thought everyone would at least stayed back and have dinner together today...but then it does not appear so...Very FEW did. :( HAha, however, we had new "companionship" today, Qian Hao and Jeremy. Looking and hearing from their case, they seems worse off. Other than their monthly kallang dinner togetehr, the rest of their tuition sessions all never eat together. Well, at least farrago still got "try" to eat together after every session, although the attendance can varies very much.. haha. Joey(is this her name? hmm) also joined us today for dinner and while waiting , she showed us one video on her handphone with an empty chair shaking by itself and then.... suddenly "pops" out a scary "ghost"! It scared or surprised me that i gave such a big reaction! Haha, that was great entertainment for everyone! Hoho, and ellie very "ke lian', got "bullied" and "scared" by Joey by her fake lizard. So much that ellie become a bit too...tensed up that every single movement that touches her, she thought we trying to scare her with the lizard. Haha, all joey's fault :P Today was also Cheung Ping's birthday and we celebrated it with a cake and a card. Really thanks for all ur effort and time for our photographi session. Happy Birthday!~ :)

Leave the PASSED behind...

Well... just recieved the notification this week that i did NOT get into the IA company that i went for interview last week. =( Oh man...hope they allocate a "nice" one for me then. However for the bursary interview, it was successful! Luckily for that... what i can say is what i get is more than last year. =) Now my financial burden can be lessen a bit... :)

Today is the X campus Run 2008 event organised by NTU runners club. Its open to all and i had been a loyal particpant since year 1!yes! Still remember last year campus run was raining and had to postpone till quite late to commence. Lucky today's weather was very cooling and fine!~ Perfect for running!~ =)At first, i asked ssy and a few others to join or accompany me but in the end, only managed to find steve and yf who signed up with me. Haiz. Still remember the good old times where we ran together for the past 2 years with my sec friends...

This time, there are fewer participants for campus run...fewer by a lot. Seems like the response this year wasnt that good, maybe due to ...CAs? HAha, the whole run is 6.4km around the boundary of the whole school and i spent 40 mins to complete it. Not very fast i know but at least i never stopped and continued running throughtout! A great accomplishment, u know :DAs usual, the "steep killer slope" at bus route 179 , near the school of chemcical and biological engineering, is the hardest part. XIONG! But still i never walk leh....haha. And yf ma...cant make it. Not even halfway, he already lagged behind me a lot and took like almost 1 hour to complete it. Heard he was distracted by the running girls and busy talking to them along the way. =Pp Among the runners, saw 1 wearing the GEt High shirt for this year VOC. Cant recognise her from my centre and i thought maybe its from clementi and kallang. Later found out that she was actually from COR. Haha, she sure can run!~ She got 7th in the girls category. But upon running past the finishing line, she sort of "collapse" down which made everyone panic. Lucky she was fine. :)

I joined Campus Run mainly because of the T shirt. LOL. I already got 2 different designs from the past 2 years and now i got the 3rd design this year! Had to admit, this year design of the campus run T shirt is much nicer than last year!~ HAha. Hehee...gonna get it next year too. :P Now my legs are super tired( i never trained for it by the way) and i know my legs will surely ache next morning. Already can feel it now... OUCH!

The front View of the T shirt. Creative line, haha.

The back view of the T shirt.

What a pity, the recess week was over...So FAST! After recess week, there are 2 quizzes and 2 interviews waiting for me. Tuesday just went to the bursary interview at SSC with my sis. (i wonder why is there a need for interview leh, the past 2 years no need interview de..oh well, i dislike interviews. :( ) So funny, i and my sis applied for the same bursary, we both got the same interview, same day, same time, same venue and EVEN on the day of interview, they called us together in the same room for the interview too! =.= When i got inside the room, i was a bit overwhelmed by the strong presence of 4 interviewers. Got alumni, senior director of Financial Aid and bla bla... diaoz, i only applied for a bursary and the atmosphere is as if i am applying for a grand prize. =.= The "boss" was very comical, his first question to me was:"So...from the records, u have a sister...". The whole room was filled with giggles...OF course, i had a sister, she was sitting besides me ma. Somemore, the lady who brought us in the room already introduced us as siblings before that le. Haha. "Boss" never pay attention. Just give me the bursary lah. =P

The second interview was for my Industrial Attachment next year. Because of this lecture, i have to skip my 2 lectures. (hmph, i am a good student ok... though i often fell asleep in lectures :P) The company is in Science park road, which i had to take a bus to go, not near to mrt at all. :( Wonder if i really got accepted, my travelling time may be quite long. I had to wear formal today which was very 不自在 for me. The interview went smoothly but it seems like they have higher expectations from me. But i am really interested in the job scope though... :/

As for the CAs, haiz... as usual...nothing much to say...

I just watched halfway "KUNGFU PANDA" which i had downloaded. And there is this line said by this "tortorise" master which i found it very familar which i dunno where i had heard it before ...haha.
