Went to the useless talk about our final year specialisation in school. Useless..cause they actually use last year slides for their presentations. Whats the point sia? U want us to hear about the last year's economy for wat...We more concerned about teh current market and our future leh. I might as well read the slides online lo. But still, that day is the only day where we get to meet each other during this busy IA period. Take it as a large EEE gathering. HAha. Had a chat and met up with the rest of the EEE gang. heh heh, finally saw who is the secret "harasser" of honeycat. Turned out to be my ex lab buddy! :D A small world after all. Anyway, hes really a nice guy, can consider him de. hee ;)

Later went to support Eileen and watched Ntu Chinese Orchestra Concert. Few surprises there. Saw yongni and wenjie there.("dating"?). Saw Cong Ping with a HUGE and HEAVY bonquet of flowers for Eileen. (huh? secret admirer of Eileen?) Hmm. Not what i think. HAHa. Saw Younian there too. :) The concert was not really as great as i expect it to be...kinda expected the music to be a bit more 古典. The last song was super long...just as what zy had said, "i slept and woke up, slept and woke up, slept and woke up...And the song still haven end!". HAHA. The worst thing is that the hall is very HOT. Sweating. :( The funniest part i think is the "encore" part. Dunno is it a tradition or what...i heard from "her" that normally after the last song had finished, the audience would shout "ENCORE! ENCORE!" and they would play another song. HOWEVER, i only heard a few soft shouts of "encore" after the last song only lei. ANd the conductor walked inside the backstage and walked back again on stage within less than a minute. He already expected it, huh? A bit too 假 ba..? Lol. After that encore song again, the same thing happen again. LoL. They might as well put that 2 encore songs under the main programme. Hoho. :)

Went to KTV with the juniors. Previously, i was like wondering whether to go or not, cause firstly, they did not "officially" invite us, secondly, i was the odd one out there too, feels like a crasher. Or maybe i thought of just having dinner with them only. Then 不自不觉 ... i ended up there. At a family ktv lounge, katong shopping centre. They helped us to buy the "popular" wet char kuay teow, which taste nice! :D That became our dinner.

6 people are there and oh my, they sure like to sing and good at that! HAha, and i thought only our batch and our seniors love to K. I expect them to sing a lot of new popular chinese songs, but to my surprise, they 点so many 老歌! Haha, i "teased" them that they are so young yet they still like to sing old old songs. They replied that "not old" ma~ We are still all born in the 1980s ma~ LOl, WELL Said!~ Ming wei and jiahui made a great "pair" too. One can sing and sounds like a male, especially for the duets part. Haha. Just like aya and ellie. Common charcteristics? Both pairs can be VERY HIGH. *Amazed* Jingru also good at singing too. :) MAybe she inherited the singing from liang jingru. :P HAha.

When we about to leave, saw Doreen too! Din noticed her until she called me. HAha. Its been quite some time since kids world and she still remember me! :)

Ah YES! Finally my new broadband service came online! Ahh...been waiting for this :) Mobile broadband just cannot make it....

Been quite busy for the past week.. Just accept a new tuition assignment which is just one street away from my home. Pay is not that high though, and somemore the parents want me to teach thrice a week. *die* Then there are the preparation and songsign practises for DEAFintion. Still remember the night before where we played hotel626(had such a frightening night), amazed at the wonders of "PETERanswers" and watching the "butterfly effect". Did not have enough sleep..

Then came the day of DEAFintion. Had to admire the juniors for putting in a lot of effort for it. Turnout rate was pretty good(Except for my group, only 3 pple! =.=)Mostly the participants were friends of the committee. During the icebreaking, when they self introduced, can hear "i am dragged here by...". Almost everyone. Got one year 4 gal in my group too, well, who is super on lei. haha. Saw Cong Ping too! Surprise! :) He commented that our goodie bags are very good, got a lot of stuff. Haha, okay lah, just a lot of tibits and sweets only. :P The participants are very high and active throughout the whole day, really happy to see that. =) On top of that, can see that they enjoy songsigning "my heart will go on" too~ Heh, good job~ :)))

Yup...maybe you are right. haha.

Anyway, just casual chat with some friends on msn on sunday night. (Wonder why everyone seems so active during this time, its the only time i always get a lot of chat windows...) I mentioned abt this V day thing to a friend and she showed me this blog of her friend, which according to her, a "100%Lady" will think this way. Thought i shared it anyway. :)

"In honour of V-day, there are somethings i feel that guys should know about flowers on valentine’s day. Spoken from the bottom of a 100% nu ren (lady)… ahem….

1) no plastic flowers
I know to all logical creatures (guys) out there, they wont die. Hence worth the money. NO, it does not work that way. You will not get any points for this ‘genius’ idea.

Worst scenario: appear with a plastic flower saying ‘my love for you will never die, just like this flower.’

My interpretation: you mean your love is just as fake as this plastic flower? Stingy creature!

2) huge bouquet of REAL flowers
This no doubt is a wonderful gift for valentines day. Because you are helping to boost the economy by splurging on overpriced-overrated-halfdead-tiny flowers. Maybe we will get to see some economic growth because at recessions like this, the only reason to not hold your cash on too tight, is the fear of a raging lady. ‘WHERE ARE MY FLOWERS?!’

But in many Mar-ians mind, you think that you will score more points for the huge and costly bouquet right? Like maybe 30 points? WRONG! Let me tell you how points system works in Venus.

1 point for thinking of me (coz you bought the flowers, signifying that you thought of us), 1 point for remembering tis valentines day, 1 point for the expense you made(showing that you care enough to splurge on us) = 3 points

GASP~! the revelation.. its only worth 3 points for a dozen roses?

Well, knowing how we function, here are some ideas of how to generate more points. Instead of giving 1 dozen roses at a time, you can give them separately over the course of a month perhaps. then you get 3 points per stalk~! that would make up to 3 times 12 = 36

It is the thought that counts in Venus, the meaning behind each gift. I believe tat most ladies out there would agree with me that its not the price that counts, its the thought that counts

Happy Valentines Day Everyone"

thanks to honeycat and her friend, misting, for this post.

valentine day...14th feb. This year, very low profile, did nothing much this time. haha. Still remember just two days before that, saw a young "colleague" of mine with 3 fanciful small bags of gifts, which contains beautifully wrapped chocolates. Wow! He said that he was helping his 3 friends to pass them to a young girl working there. Hmm...all 3 guys like 1 girl? HAha, i am also curious to know who is the so called "lucky" girl, so i waited with him after work for a hour. Turned out that the girl did not come to work today...(bla...waste my time. =X)

To some people, the gifts are just kind of "gentlemanly" acts for girls. To them, if they see someone they fancy, they will give gifts to them, especially during Valentine day. To me, the gifts are just a passageway to let the other party know our intentions. SO, if she already knew that a guy likes her a long time, then there is no point giving her gifts that day... isnt it...

That whole day...watched 2 love story movies. One is "Cyborg Girl" and the other one is Cape number 7. Both movies i had downloaded long time ago le, but only watched on V day. Haha, guess its also appropriate for the occasion. Liked the Cyborg Girl movie, really humourous and nice too. Very interesting storyline and touching too... The Cape No 7 still okay but i liked the songs though. :)

读书有本难念的书,工作有件难念的经。。。
The young, The senior adults and The "retired to be"...

The Young(Us!!!):
Always so energetic and passionate about work. Jokes and chatter everywhere. Compared a office full of young people(psa) and a office full of old men(my company). One office is always so hectic, always chasing after time but yet very lively. The other office feels so dead and empty, always waiting for time to pass, everyone seems to disappear from their desks(tea breaks?). No wonder my young supervisor says my company is for people to "养老"... Lucky i posted to site, or else think i will collect dust in office...

The senior adults(managers, supervisors..those on the higher ups):
They always tell us, the young people, to be daring and innovative. Be creative. Come up with new original ways to improve our work or situation. Come up with refreshing ideas to solve the problems. And as the young, we are always so obedient and so enthusiastic:
"Sir! I suggest we can do this...and that...will be GOOD in the long run..."
"Great idea but so expensive and troublesome... You DO IT AH??!!(alone)"
Sometimes i feel pity for those younger supervisors at site. They had the best experience and knows very well whats happening at the site. Definately better than those sitting comfortably at the chairs in the office. They know how to improve this and that. But their suggestions always get shoot down by such remarks. To the supervisors, it just mean extra work, no promotion or incentive and yet same pay. To the managers, it just mean extra responsiblities and arrangements to take care of. If anything wrong happens, who's going to answer??? In the end, its just empty talk...the problematic problems will still be there. In this working life, it all comes down to one ultimate rule of survival: 明哲保身

The "retired to be"(old):
They are already at retirement age but still working. They are always told to upgrade themselves. Like learn new skills or take new courses. However, one of them told me: You upgrade yourself, u took over someone's place in a higher position because you can do his job liao. The poor guy will have to upgrade himself too, to take someone's place in a even higher position. The whole cycle goes on...and in summary, If one person upgrades himself, another person will lose his/her job. One got a job, one lost a job. It still the same, isnt it? Does it solve the unemployment issue? They are such "kind" souls that all of them unite against upgrading. haha. All just want to retire in peace...

a mini 意外的收获!

Today after doing maintenance at the Pasir Panjang wharves gate there, Mr chong brought us to see a mango tree there at the entrance. Wow. I mean, we had been there for a few times, but never did we notice that there is a mango tree right in front of us! Not even my supervisor who had been there for 2 years! Well, not big ripe mangoes though, just several green small small unripe mangoes. And what makes us so excited is that although the tree is very high to pick the mangoes, it dropped a lot of small unripe green mangoes on the ground. just like durians. heh heh. We went around collecting the "fallen" mangoes and took home. Mr Chong said that we can mix with sugar and vinegar to eat with it, for it to taste better. My supervisor is so greedy, took one whole bag full of them back. i just take about half a dozen...and when i reached home, i found only 2 left. :( Must had dropped somewhere along the way. Arghh...bad luck. Anyway, it tastes sour and non fleshy (raw)... the ripe ones are better. :D

*the only mini mangoes left .. in the end. :( *
