end of school holidays...soon

Already its the last week of holidays. How time flies...a short 3 months. First month doing school project of DIP, quite happy considering the grade that i got in the end. :) Next followed by a week of fruitless jobhunting, then Camp Outreach, which was fun too. Managed to work at CAS which was recommended by her. Very grateful for that although its only for a short 2 weeks. Lastly another period of slacking before followed by the amazingly "different" wsc camp. Now...? Tidying up my room, clearing out shelves and area cleaning... preparing for start of school.

Hmm, there is a last minute decision by my father to visit my relatives in malaysia during this weekend. Erm, really not a good time now cause firstly, school is starting next week and i need to prepare for it. And whats worse is i got quite a lot of programs this weekend leh. Fri got provost gathering, argh! its been like ...2 years since we last met? :( Sat got plenty of the cca stuff...which i had to miss. :( Sunday got kira group outing to spend our champions swensons vouchers. Aww... :( Oh great... But then...family and relatives are still the highest priority of all. After all, most of my relatives are in malaysia and its not often that we can visit each other. ... and we are taking abt my father's side relatives...which i am very close to them since young... =) All the more i should go...

(hmmm... i wonder why father suddenly wish to go back... )

Ignite Change...

WSC Ignite Change camp was just over, 22th to 25th July. Hmm...never thought of joining it in the first place but a few factors changed my mind. Since its under WSC, i thought it might be a chance to learn more about the other wings and RSPs of WSC. Secondly, a lot of RSPHI friends are going too which excite me(got company!) but also disappointed that some of them withdrew too in the end. :( Thirdly, i never been to a foc camp before in my ntu life so far. I always heard its fun and sort of regretted it when i didnt join any when i was a freshie. Now heres the chance! Lastly, i knew a few old sec friends in the main comm like "MY" and "YK" but never really expect some "special" treatment from them too... =.=

Its only a short 3 days and the programs are...really quite "foc" standard. Station games, initiation night, amazing race..etc. So nothing much to say. Not really as GREAT as i anticipated but largely also depends how is ur attitude towards the camp too. ;) Somemore, some BURNING "issues" did pop out during the camp and its kind of displease everyone. But really, i think having feedback to the camp will be really useful. Morever, there are also hidden "conflicts" here and there...which makes me wonder if it would be better if we dont join this camp at all... :S I did have my own unhappy issues about the camp too but then. . . its really hard to voice them out directly, especially you have friends on both sides. However, to be on the bright side, there are some enjoyable and entertaining moments of my group too. =) Laughter!!!

"Catch" and "Cook"...

Sat went to the "Catch" and "Cook" event organised by the deli club. Well, kind of last minute decision ,Cause no one is accompanying me there and then...whatever. Ended up i still go anyway. Its at khatib there, the big pond we always saw while travelling on the mrt. The turnout rate wasnt that good but at least still got nayr and qp who i knew there. The anglers club members taught us how to use the bait and the hook to catch prawns. Hmm..still not bad, the prawns there are really HUGE but quite painful if got pinched by their pincers. =.= haha, my luck still not bad comapred to the rest, caught 7 prawns in 1.5 hours. =) We had barbecuqed food for lunch and they taught us how to make a few "special" dishes. Like the roasted mushroom and some mexican style food which i dont really like. :P For dessert we had bbq-ed pineapple with caramel on it. Sweet sour and kind of unique. And also not forget to mention our freshly caught prawns! Really Juicy and Tasty! YUMMY~ :):):)

* Our catch(sprinkled with salt)! Careful of their pincers, they still alive!*

* our bbq lunch...minus the prawns which ended up in my stomach le. so No photos.:P*

Later in the afternoon, went for my first day at work as a waiter in Island cafe at Tangs. Quite worried there cause i had no waitering experience. Hmm..my job mainly is to act as a runner, that is keep serving food to customers. Had to memorise all the seat numbers and learn to carry the dishes. Kind of hard due to my shaky hands. The staff there really nice too, especially the auntie, very friendly to me. taught me many things too. :) The job isnt really tough but busy. Ended up the supervisor extended my working hours last minute, had to miss my ss practise. I had to do the closing down too, clean all the culteries, wipe all the tables, clear all the dishes...wow, really looks as if i am doing household chores. =.= Well, at least the chef DID cook some fried rice for me personally. grateful for that. :) Tired...

Went to watch "THE DARK KNIGHT". A long movie and i suddenly realised being the batman is not easy. You can be the hero, but only IF it is the hero that everyone wants. Its either you be the white knight or the dark knight. Even the whitest knight can become corrupt under the right circumstances... And the dark knight? Not a hero but a lone guardian....

During the movie, i recieved a lot of calls which interrupt me. there was the job call and another call which almost scared me. I need to go to malaysia on one of the weekends. LUCKY, its only a visit to the relatives. :)

Dunno why but i seem to be cramming my days with stuff to do. It seems as if i really wish to be occupied with something to do. hmm... am i avoiding something?

"Keep Holding On" by Avril Lavigne

The song that we are going to songsign on 20th july. Well, not say i really love this song but once u listened to it long enough, more or less u start to feel that the song is ... um...quite nice. Haha. :)
"Keep Holding On" by Avril Lavigne

You're not alone
Together we stand
I'll be by your side
You know I'll take your hand

When it gets cold
And it feels like the end
There's no place to go
You know I won't give in
Noo I won't give in

*Chorus*
Keep holding on
Cause you know we'll make it through, We'll make it through
Just, stay strong
Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you can say (nothin' you can say)
Nothing you can do (nothin' you can do)
there's no other way when it comes to the truth
So, keep holding on'
Cause you know we'll make it through, We'll make it through

So far away
I wish you were here
Before it's too late
This could all disappear
Before the doors close
And it comes to an end
With you by my side
I will fight and defend (ah ah)
I'll fight and defend (ah ah) yeah yeah

*Chorus*

Hear me when I say
When I say I believe
Nothing's gonna change
Nothing's gonna change destiny
Whatever's meant to be will work out perfectly
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah....
La da da da, la da da da daLa da da da da da da da da

*Chorus*
Ahh, ahhAhh, ahh, Keep holding on, Ahh, ahhAhh, ahh
*Chorus*

Thanks for the birthday cake, farrago. It was a pleasant surprise. :) Yeah, besides the sms birthday wishes from my friends and a couple of minor gatherings to treat me to a meal together these few days, my birthday had been quite "peaceful"...

I still remember the only significant birthday was on my 21st where i "officially" recieved presents from close friends. Yup, that is the first time i actually got a present. Well, my family also dont have a habit of celebrating birthdays too since young. So when i actually recieved present or cakes, i am grateful. :) Other than that, we normally just settle with a treat of meal. Maybe nowadays guys dont really like 热闹 or other kinds of "big scale" birthday parties ba. Or also maybe also we are getting past the age of 21(old?), feeling that there isnt a need for such big celebrations. haha. If i am not wrong, what we matters most is actually who we wish to accompany us at that day, usually... only one "right" person is enough.... :)

Well, now my life is now quite relaxed too, since i am jobless now. Except for the RSPID song sign practises, i got nothing much to do in the day. Speaking of songsign, its been over half a year since we last songsign and dunno whether will we still get the "songsign feeling" back... Our group song is "Keep Holding On" and is a fast song. Oh man, they get me to "act" again and its not easy to get the"acting mood" back now. haha, maybe it takes some time. But i did like the idea of 有始有终 , to have a start and also an ending to the flow of the mood of the song. PL also commented our starting is like some kind of musical and she likes it. (haha, not really if U are the one who is acting it...) Hope i can perform well and up to expectations too. =)

Last day at work...

Today is friday and also my last day of work at CAS. Maybe because its friday, the office seems a bit quiet today. Some of them take offs, leaves or MCs. And also maybe its my last day, my boss did not give me any work to do. Today was really slacking the whole day off by doing nothing! Well, Br and xf need to leave early too for school by noon and before they left, they passed me some farewell gifts. Some chocolates and a hand drawn sketch by Br. I asked her why draw an elephant for me, she said it looked like me. =.= (in what way huh?)

Without the 2 of them, my afternoon time is even harder to get by. One friend took leave, one of them sits so far away, near the managers offices. Just walking past the offices gives me a great sense of heavy pressure. And SB so busy with his work, no one there to accompany or talk to me. Lucky or not, i made friends with one of the new ITE attachment students. Lucky i had him to "entertain" me! Hmm, we chatted and talked a lot. We shared our experiences and views(especially about girls ;) ). Like how some girls CAN be so different and SO practical nowadays. Uni gals vs Poly gals, the mindset of gals of different age groups etc. ITE pple do experience a different kind of social life compared to us, and they are not so "bad" as the society sees them. And maybe because of this, they get to know more about the different aspects of socialising and coping with human relationships. They get to see different types of people around them, regardless of gender and in turn, learnt to deal with them. How to say? They have social life experiences that "normal" students wont have. Although they do have some bad habits like smoking, drinking, gambling... some of them are really nice people though...

At the end of the day, when i handed in my timesheet, i was half hoping that my boss would ask me to stay. He DID but the HR side did not. Guess HR side have more say. Come to think of it, i should be happy that i am leaving. So far away from my home, can dun need to wake up so early anymore and endure all the traffic jams. But then the students here are really nice and somemore i had Sb and her with me. Even a simple lunch together with her, can brightens up my day there. :) When i stepped out of the company, i feel a sense of emptiness inside me...something feels missing... or am i missing something ... ... or someone?

Yesterday went for iceskating with farrago pple. Haha, as we have the "ngee ann poly ice skating association membership" cards from my collegue,we can skate the whole day for less than $10. Its my second time ice skating and my first time was like a few years ago le. Hmm. Just like roller blading, i still really cant skate properly, brake etc. Somemore, the rental skates are so stiff and lousy, my legs keep sliding off and lean to one side. I tied it tightly le but it still came loose after sometime. No choice, like that skate until a bit "xin ku". Haha, Issac joined us too and we met a few of his friends there. His friends are also kind to teach us some pointers. Issac learnt very fast. At the beginning, he needs people to "support" him around the ring but after some time, he can skate slowly around without any help. Not bad. :)We tried to hold hands together and skate, which become much more easier with the support of one another. However, if one falls, the whole group may fall together too. :D haha. Especially wh, who likes to skate so fast and "dragged" us along with him. =.= Oops, i fell once and *CHILL* it was so WET and COLD.Not only half of my pants are wet, my gloves are also totally icy wet. *freezing* Well, compared between roller blading and ice skating, i prefer...CYCLING better!~ :P MAybe Skate and blade are not my type of tea. ;) (*excuses*) Next time, we go cycle, more fun. haha. :)

After dinner, we had ice cream for dessert. They "jokingly" ask me to treat them. Okay, then i replied and say if they dare to order, then i dare to treat them lo. They DID order in the end but they refused to let me foot the bill alone. So funny...i mean, i really dun mind treating, of course, once in a while lah, not everytime...Haha. maybe other time ba. :p

Todae is my second last day at work. My collegue shared with us some jokes that her supervisor sent her. Some of them are really funny, think i post it here and share too. Be warned though. These are ADULT jokes and may contain sexual humour. :)
