Happy New Year 2009!

No more worries this year,
That everything be smooth sailing ,
And moments will always be happy,
And everyone will have a wish...
And life w'be always fun
And love will never end....
this is my grown up new year list...

This video is taken during the countdown using my camera phone. Liked the fireworks finale, the ending part is nice. :)

Come to think of it, this year is the year of OX, which IS my year. Which means i had reached another 12 years of cycle of my life. 24 years old! argh...迈入中年了。。。

Well, been occupied with alot of things lately....that i also lazy to spell it out. And there are some stuff which i dun wish to mention a lot too...
Yz back from korea
well, after half a year, yz finally back in singapore from korea. Well, i did jokily say i want ginseng for my present but never expect u to really buy one for me...a ginseng soap. haha. smells a bit wierd. But still thanks...(hmm...u didnt change much...)
Results
What can i say??? So many *deadweights*. At least i passed everything. Barely.
Canvassing
Really, other than seeing Mr President close up, i guess its not really that interesting. But i MUST go...because...after all, my bursary comes from the Lien foundation. :)
Clementi BBQ/chalet
We went there straight after the canvassing. Managed to convince Ruqing and Hy to come along too, although they stayed there for only a short while. BBq starts at evening so we practically have the whole afternoon to kill. Like taking farra-kallang neoprints(although cui xia is the only kallanger there who stayed throughout), playing cards, volleyball, frisbee until we cant see clearly in the dark.. Then the bbq. Really liked the food, so MANY variety and tastes good too! Pei Fu!~
*by the way, can see how scary the farrago juniors are that day, especially when they played the "ugly ugly" game.... can see their "ugly yet FUN" side of them...haha* Farrago JB outing
Finally another farrago outing together, with yf as special guest. haha. :) Sing ktv, eat, shop, watch movie, eat ice cream, go pasar malan eat, shop, then pass by kek house, go to aya house for a short rest. Haha, fun filled day~ :D
-Movie tickets are cheap!!only ard S$3, but some scenes are cut from ip man compared to here in sg. :(
-Sort of got conned by the taxi driver for the fare. We boarded the blue colour taxi(excutive taxi?) and the meter fare jumped like mad! Every FEW SECS while the car is moving, it INCREASES BY 20 CENTS!OMG! really gave us a shock. In the end, a $8 fare becomes a $18 dollar taxi fare. To make matters worse, for 3 persons in a taxi, add $1 more. (its stated in the taxi, but its in malay...) -_-
-Food is cheaper and some items are cheaper there too. Hmm, really satisfied. cause i bought quite a few stuff. Yeah, can finally spent away my ringgit hong bao money.. :)

A "special" Christmas eve and Christmas...

Christmas eve, i decided to accompany RuoWei and Qihao, together with Isaac and their friends to expo for the church service. Well, i also dunno why i agreed to go, think partly its because of what Qihao had said. Imagine that if a host sincerely wishes their grp members to go and no one wishes to go, the host will feel kinda disappointed.(i was actually quite shocked that Qh said this, cause i never thought he was the caring type. Later i found out that he actually already went for this several times before. Thats why he doesnt mind going again.) Well, for me, partly i decided to go is also because i never went before, can go and have a look how its like. The expo is super crowded and the queue was super LONG that we thought we are unable to get inside due to limited seats. Even RW's "internal" friends also cant help much. BUT Isaac's friends can. :) With their help, we "cut across" the queue. Got the 过五关斩六将 feeling. :D Because with every small distance that we cut, a security guard will stop us. But with the "magic words", the guards let us through. We will totally relieved and amazed. In the end, we managed to get inside and get frontal seats somemore. Wow. Also saw Joey and some HIs there. Saw guo cheng who said he was a ex participant of farrago chinese course. The skit was very entertaining and the prayers sound quite nice. Got the christmas feel. :) After everything ended,we got introduced around to their friends, then we went for dessert at Changi Airport. At there, we walked around and chatted there for quite some time. And QH still confidently said that we will able to catch the last bus.
First mistake: We BELIEVED him.
When we got to the bus interchange, there is still a long queue of pple waiting for bus, which gives us a false sense of hope because in fact, its already past the last bus timing.
Second mistake: We continued waiting there for bus.
When we finally decided to give up waiting for a never coming bus, we decided to switch to taking train instead.
Third mistake: We walked there, only to see the gate closing.
Just nice. Closing. 真是祸不单行. In the end, we thought of taking cab. According to our calculations, our cab fare will cost around $60 plus(midnight charge, 50% more), shared among 3 persons at 3 different drop off points. That will amount to $20 plus person...we might as well use that money to eat something good at the airport. -_- WHich reminds me of the leader said at the church earlier. "Your life will change after tonight." Yeah i guess, both Qh and me were thinking abt that too, they will quite right, we were going to spend our christmas night here at changi airport. what a change. =P

We spent our own sweet time exploring and chatting there. And also during that night, i get to know more about qihao. We talked a lot, especially about his army life. I guess thats partly also explains his "wierd" personality and attitude. Well, dun be surprised if u cant tell whether at times is he lying or not. ...because ... *classified*. ;) We chatted all the way till morning, and he has really his own way of lifestyle and thinking. Hes a good planner too. He knew a lot of stuff and even more bible knowledge than RW! HAha. U be even more surprised that he got a diploma in some kind of religious studies! Amazing ... I also found out that he is actually a relative of one of my "hated" professors. Well, speaking of a small world. =.=

My only wish~~~~~~~ WOOOSH~

5 days of ss just passed...

19th Dec SS performance at Suntec
First day of performance, felt kinda nervous that day, after all, its been really quite a long time since we last performed at stage again. :) Still, everything managed to go smoothly, despite the change of size of the stage formation to a smaller one. And my "wish" group(my junior ss group) is not nervous that all. (at least they dun look like they are nervous or excited). Haha. Really surprised and thanks to kok and gz for coming down to support! I never asked them to come and yet they came. (Must be they are too bored at home. =X) Thanks to Isaac and C for coming down to support too. :) That night we also celebrated shuhui belated birthday at one of the nearby cafes. Liked the toast very much! =)
20th Dec SS performance at Robertson walk
The most tiring day of all. Not because of practices but because that "performing area" is so HARD to find that we virtually spent half our day just walking here and there. =( And then there is this issue whether to let qihao up on stage too. Because of his "ai mai" attitude. After much "debate", we decided to remove him out of the formation. Personally, i think if he and RW are a bit more cooperating, i think the ending part of the performance will be much nicer. :) One good thing about today is that the senior groups are not performing today. hehee. ^_^ That night, thru huadong recommendation, farragoians ate durian chee cheong fun at somerset. We walked there, and its NOT near. =.= And the durian ccf tastes okay okay, it was really just like eating durian only, nothing special to me. =X

21th Dec SS performance at Vivo
Ahh...finally an air conditioned place for our performance. A bit of technical problem happened. That the music was totally cut off during the "christmas in my heart" performance. BUT, most of the audience(us, RSPHI) sang the song together for them by voice. How touching and admirable!!! ^_^ Well, in a way, lucky its "that" song. Cause its easier to sing and everyone knows how to sign the chorus. Imagine if its the "greatest time of year" song got cut off. Will they just "freeze" there? =P Not most of us know that lyrics well. HAHA. Special guest todae was the appearance of Qiuru who came down and support us. long time no see~! :) That night, our "wish" group went down to "Splatch" house. ;) We had so much fun playing with her dog, "Sydney!" =D And also the "tang yuan" that we had in her house too. Its so heartwarming~ 22th Dec SS performance at Bugis
Oh my...last 2 days of performaces left. Still need to buy the gifts for exchange and also the making of cards for the juniors. haha, we are always so last minute~ Today stage is at bugis...in fact almost the same area as we had last year. Special thanks to Yingfei and ssy, together with the "polar express" for coming down to support. :) That night, we had a farrago steamboat together nearby. The juniors sure can eat a lot~ 有得比!:D Seniors 不可以输!=P

23th Dec SS performance at Bukit Panjang Plaza
The finale day. The seniors met earlier together to finish and touch up everything on the gifts that we decided to give to our "wish" group. A personalised card, one cute phone strap and our homemade photoframe with group photo on it each. Cant believe we managed to finished the photos in the morning . haha. so last minute. :P And also the "shrilling chicken" tha we bought for kek and shuhui, as a token of appreciation. That "toy" created such a harvoc that night.... ;) Thanks to US! =) And then there is the usual farrago self made gift exchange. Sorry, NO MORE surprises this year. I learnt my lesson last year. HAHA. ^_^ And unluckily, the junior who supposed to make card for me DID not appear that day. How disappointing. In the end, i am the one who did not get the self made card that day. (NOT again! -_-) However special thanks to hy , who gave each of "US", a gift. oh yeah. :) Great thanks to shihui and the gang too, for giving me an extra "gift", a water bottle! HAha, just what i need. =) And HEARTS to the juniors for giving each of us, seniors, a personalised card with everyone's wishes on it too. (But then....all they wrote was my "ai yan" acting of Santa and teasing of my small hands.... -_- ) I liked a few of the lines they wrote, such as : 手小无罪,爱演万岁!and 小手有小福!Haha. so creative. Thanks, everybody! :):):) That night, our "wish" group went to wj house and ordered pizza together. so 巧!We already dropped by and visited the "couples" houses le. hehee. ^_^

*hmm...see how happy the "children" are. "Santa Claus" is SO happy~ ;) *

p.s: Just found out that LAST CHRISTMAS had a real couple now. Congrats! :)

My Only Wish... WOOOSH~
Starting from poor attendance to the full strength now, and the never dying spirit to always willing stay behind for more practices from start till the end, and the independent spirit that the group have... And then there is the various jokes, rumours, forfeits, all the little actions and the teasing that we had, especially for the "couple". It was so entertaining and bonded us together. What i can say is that we are proud and love ya all~ Really hoped that everyone had enjoyed themselves and had FUN during this dec ss! I sure DiD! ^_^ ~My only wish~~~~ Wooooooosh~

Last Christmas

Last Christmas, i gave u my heart but the very next day, you gave it away. This year, to save me from tears, i giving it to someone special...

How familiar and miss that song.... and everything that came after that..... :

And of course, thanks to you too ... and the "silly" little things that i had done:

Thanks for all the little memories...

Maybe ... next year. I give it to someone , i give it to someone special...

Come to think of it, really glad that my junior group(my only wish, this year) is enjoying themselves. Starting from a few ppl attendance to the almost full attendance now, they had progressed a lot. They had their share of ups and downs too, in terms of morale and spirit. Just like my Last Christmas group. HAha. SAw their laughter, teamwork and bonding during their practices. :) An independent group, really sincerely hope they can stay like this as long as possible. ^_^

Speaking of the choice of christmas songs this year, i still think last year songs are better. HAha.

Outward Bound Singapore

Phew...Finally one rest day for me. Been going to songsign sessions all these days, quite tiring...especially i just finshed OBS, then the next day still got ss. ANd i still have to rush to IMM in the middle of my tight sechdule to settle my broadband subscription.(all because of my sis keep nagging me...>_<) Anyway, for OBS, Course: 3 day OBS special programme (with HIs) Date: 12th to 14th Dec 08 Venue: Pulau Ubin OBS school Surprised to see a couple of familiar faces there, such as COR 08 hi participants, Shidah and Nabila. Hoho, i was happy cause at least got someone there to "entertain" me there during the 3 days. Haha :D And there is kah poon there too, as Terp.

First Day
We were spilt into 2 groups, but not much difference actually since we did all our activities together. I volunteered as store IC, paired up with a HI. (all our different roles/ICs must be paired with a HI). BAd choice. So much work to do. Preparing the stores/equipment for the outdoor camp and the washing and accounting of them after the trip. Tough work. I should have chosen campsite manager. SLACK. :P ;) Activities for the day include trust fall and rockclimbing.(something like that.) Wont comment much on it since i did not really try my best for that, due to my fear of heights. ANd morever, its is physically challenging too. Salute to those who managed to reach the top, some even twice! ;) Cheers to those who TRIED! YES! :D

Second Day
Finished packin our stores and ready to set off. In order to reduce the load, we bring one lesser tent for the guys. Each tent is quite heavy and needs time for the body to adjust to the weight.(had not carried such a heavy load since army days...:P) CAn see some of the HIs are having difficulties carrying it but they endured and finished the journey. Admirable spirit! :)we reached the granite quarry where we built our raft and let it set sail on the water in the quarry. The scariest part for me is when we are told to jump down into the quarry one by one. >_< Still remembered my first OBS last time also had the similar experience except last time is much higher up, like jumping a few metres above water level(felt like walking a plank). This time is not that high but thinking how deep the water is , can sort of scare me. But still once i jumped, and i float, i found out that actually with life jacket properly worn, its quite hard to sink, really. :) Its fresh water and CLEAN. Most importantly, our raft managed to float and we can paddle it! HAaha, compared to the raft we made in COR, this raft is much better built. :):):) WE had fun in there...too bad we did not stay there for long.Trekked to our campsite and built our tents. The rocks there really made my whole night sleep uncomfortable. And the bloody mosquitos and sandflies there are so irritating and "powerful". Their bites on me became reddish and will not easily disappear, even till now! :( But the cool sea breeze ...was cooling.

Third and final day
Nothing much this day except trekking back to obs school. And it rained all the way. Aww. so uncomfortable. Not to mention it caused all our stores to be wet and dirty and we had to clean it! :( All the ponchos, groundsheets, tents... CAmping is fun, but not the cleaning up. Hmm..think the camp can be a bit longer...3 days seem .. ... a bit short. :)

Kids World 2008

Back again to join this kids world after 2 years! I can join this year because its open to all. So good. heh. Too bad that no one accompany me. :(

Day 1

All the volunteers need to dress in red colour shirt as a theme for first day. I expect to see no familiar faces here but to my surprise saw Zhiqi, HuiYi and YuQi there! Haha. Well, they are different from my group though. There are 10 groups, each with a kiddy theme such as Chicken Little, shrek, The Incredibles, KungFu Panda etc... My group is "happy feet". There are 8 kids and 10 volunteers in my groups. 6 vols from CBC ,all in one clickz, and the 3 NBS in one clickz. Oh great. Now i am the "outcast". =.= As for the kids, 6 are Malays, all from SAME family, 3 males and 3 females, including one cute twins!~ The kid i am in charge of "babysitting" is one of the twins. Hehe. And all their names are so similar, some to the extend of only a difference of "n" and "m". ramizan and ramizam. Well, the twins turn out to be a hot favourite cause they are so cute and all the gals like them. haha. Sometimes quarrels and small "fights" do occur among the malay siblings, but once their eldest brother "spoke" out, everything turns out fine. 大哥出马,谁与争锋!For example, if u give one of the twins a sweet, you must give to all or else the other siblings will get "jealous". HAha. The other 2 chinese kids are also cute, one look and u know they are siblings. :D (Sounds faniliar? ;) ) First day is mostly icebreaking games and station games. One of the twins, ramizan(the one i am looking after) got so tired that he fell asleep on my lap while waiting for their turn to play at their last station. In the end, he rather sleep than play games.

DAY 2

The second day we met and brought the kids to the Science Centre. Original plan is to go to the zoo but there seems to be a lack of sponsors for this event this year. become low budget, so go to science centre. :(:(:( Today was the most tiring day among the 3 days. Because the kids, especially the twins, like to run around wildly, and we, as "babysitters", we have to follow them everywhere. Imagine one twin run on left and the other one run on the right, who would u run after? -_- Ended up we all took turns taking care of them. They are still young really, dun really know how to "understand" all the science exhibits. So they just ran around, touch here and there a bit, fiddle with the buttons and whatever they can press or touch, then switch to another exhibit. Once completed one round, they repeat the whole cycle again, including the same exhibits! SO SIANZ! I guess they must have forgotten what they had seen or play with earlier. zzz...

Day 3 + Finale Night

Ah the finale day. By this time, all the kids are really warmed up and very close to us. Like ask me and the other guy to piggyback them and run around playing catching etc. (super shag la~)We are already no strangers to them and we are like bigger brothers and sisters to them. :) The youngest sister even gave each of us volunteers a short handwritten message, thanking us and saying how they enjoyed the activities with us. :D So touched! There was this final night, where each group is required to put up a short performance, with the kids in it. Haha, you should see them, how energetic the kids are! Some of them can even do the "hip hop" dance! Really really amazing and entertaining! :D Kids World 2008 is SO FUN!~ :D

So Far...

Not long after exams got a lot of stuff and activities to settle and do, especially in the month of December.

Well, somehow or rather, troublesome issues tend to get sorted out eventually. 所谓船到桥头自然直吧. Haha. Sometimes i am just amazed at the way things work out. Or things tend to go one big round and then back to square one. Either way, its settled. OR at least in a way. :)

Christmas SS Practices

Now is my turn to become senior attach for the junior group. 想当年!Haha. Well their christmas song is "The Only Wish". Heard that its a song that is chosen and signed before by the seniors. Regular Seniors attached for this group has only 3 pple, so few! And the song is really nice, a happier song, compared to my Last Christmas. Hmm, when i joined this group on the first session, i cant help but seem to notice that one of the juniors REALLY looks like "her". Especially on the side view. 0_O

And there are two senior performing ss groups too. One is a fast song, "Greatest Time of the Year" which turned out to be a hot favourite among seniors. Everyone wanted to sign that song. haha. The other one is a slowww song, "My Grown Up Christmas List". The 冷门歌. Ended up i signing this song ...
