Its a long ride home. And its 6pm. Oh man, i had never off work so late for a long time until now... :P And i am neither on mrt nor bus. I am inside a spacious car, with my manager besides me. Well, i would not agree to accept his lift if not for the fact that i had to rush to tuition now. o.o His "special appearance" at site disrupt my schedule for the day. . . Now i am late for my tuition! :(

Along the way, my manager seems so enthusiastic about talking to me that he leaned towards me while driving. It as if he never see me for ages... (well, i am seldom at office though..) And he "shared" to me about the various types of engineers job scopes and positions, systems, sales, site, production, QA and so on. Think he trying to "interest" me into joining the engineering line. Cause he said some engineering graduates like to jump into the finance and banking sectors after graduation instead of being an engineer. (due to $$$?) Well, i already intended to be an engineer le after graduation, hmmm, at least ... for a few years. Haha, what for if i study EEE for 4 years and not do engineering job when i graduate? 好像白读了四年 if i did not do so. After all, i would like to try first too. :)

"What differences are there between engineers and technicians?"
"The difference comes down to the level of education and responsibility. Engineers 'think', Technicians 'do'."

And all in all, "Others rule by heart, Engineers rule by head".

Oh man, feels as though he's trying to "propanganda" and trying to brainwash me leh. =.= Well, he never stops talking throughout the journey. Haha. I was like so curious how he can talk and drive at the time cause he was looking at me almost all the time while talking. Then i noticed that his car was Automatic Transmission. No need to change gear...so good. Can focus more on talking. ;) hee =x

First, a private meeting. Second, a free ride home. What's next? A free buffet treat? :D

Lately heard this song from someone's handphone. It brought me so much memories ... cause i remembered i learnt this song when i was in primary 6.(it was like more than 10years ago? old song..) The whole school sang together this song together during weekly assembly. My first exposure to english songs too during that time. The first proper english song i first learnt. .. :) And i never bother to find out the origins of this song until now... It was a theme song from disney animated film, Pocahontas.

The song poetically presents the Native American viewpoint that the earth is a living entity where humankind is connected to everything in nature. In the song(film), Pocahontas attempts to explain to John Smith about the wonders of the earth and nature including the spirit within all living things, encouraging him not to think of them as things he can conquer or own, but rather as beings to respect and live with in harmony. She also urges him to accept humans who are different in appearance and culture and to learn from them.

"You think I'm an ignorant savage. And you've been so many places, I guess it must be so. But still I cannot see. If the savage one is me, How can there be so much that you don't know? You don't know ..."

COLOURS OF THE WIND

You think you own whatever land you land on
The Earth is just a dead thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name
You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You'll learn things you never knew you never knew

*Chorus*
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?

Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest
Come taste the sunsweet berries of the Earth
Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once, never wonder what they're worth
The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends
And we are all connected to each other
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends

*Chorus*

How high will the sycamore grow?
If you cut it down, then you'll never know
And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
For whether we are white or copper skinned
We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains
We need to paint with all the colors of the wind
You can own the Earth and still
All you'll own is Earth until
You can paint with all the colors of the wind

Yesterday went for walkaton at Sadeaf. Had to wake up so early. :( Oh my...think i long time never go there or is it i was still half asleep, i alighted at the wrong mrt stop! Suppose to go to tpy mrt then take bus 31 to there but i alighted at amk instead. =.= (no wonder i cant find the bus service 31!) Luckily, i arrived just in time to see the dance performance by the HIs, with Angeline and huishan in it. :) We walked from Sadeaf to esplanade. Along the way, we took like so many photos with the different volunteers. How funny, every we go, sure must take photos de. -_- Haha, and we saw the duck boat too, seems fun~ :)

Next, is also the main reason why i go today, the free movie at Iluma!~ Haha :P We watched Mall Cop. It was very nice and hunourous! :D Somemore, the whole theatre have no other people, other than us farraogians there! We talked and lauged as loudly as we like, we even took photographs in there. Haha, It seemed like as if we booked the whole cinema. :)

After the usual regular session, we ate dinner at Zelin's family vegetarian restaurant. (老地方?)Heh. We spilt into 2 tables. How funny, it always seem naturally that somehow we always sit this way? juniors one side and seniors one side? haha, the juniors are more bonded among themselves now though. :) *good to see that...* Come to think of it, all the "big eaters" sitted on one table ISNT a good idea. We finished the food so fast! HAHA! By the time we cleared our food on the table, the other table still left a huge mountain of unfinished food. They even had to play "终极密码" to decide on who to finish the food! lol. (told u we should eat buffet style le ma...) The vegetarian food was very nice ! hehe. Thanks to Zelin for providing us with a discount. :)

I am now in a 4-walled room. The atmosphere is tense. My manager is sitting on my left and on my right, is my direct supervisor. Never know that office can be so scary. And that i am once again... "Summoned" back to the office for "questioning". . .

Lately, my "peaceful" IA life is no more... somehow they gave me a lot of things and research to do recently. And today i am back in office, reporting to them about my "findings". Somemore i have a presentation to make to the whole "mafia bosses" of my company after next week.

It was a gruesome 2 hour long meeting... or rather, sort of "interrogation".

And before i am dismissed, my manager gave me his 金玉良言:

"Engineers are there to solve the problems."

When i was out of the office, my IA friend asked me: "How was the shooting? Got hurt?" I gave him a puzzled look.
"Haha, keep seeing the 2 'officers' bombarding u with questions(bullets) all the time. Like a warzone, man. U must be full of 'bullet-holes' now, buddy." =.=
Just then, my site supervisor sent me a sms. "How was the talk by CO(commanding officer) and OC(officer-in-Command)? Another talk-cock session? ;) "
=.='' Hmm. What a guy. I am surrounded by wierd people here...

Finally, i am able to have lunch together with those office IA pple!! :D Kinda bored eating alone all this while. :( Was always fun to eat with a big group of people. Think its like ONLY the 3rd time i been eating with them ever since IA starts? The first 2 times was the first 2 days of IA at the company. After that, i got posted out to site. These pple are so funny la .... esp ming xi, who had found a new "toy". Another "gay" friend to "flirt" with ... lol. Sadly, after this short lunch, kenna called back to site again... And there it goes . . .

Lately, finally returned back to office for a day. Hmm..long time never go back to office le, wonder hows the rest doing. haha. Somemore with the two new additions of poly IA students there, the office should be quite lively now. Hehee...when i reached office, everything looks or more the same, except more quieter now...They are now seated in a row, side buy side. They seemed busy with their work, all eyes glued to the computer screen...until i saw THIS on their computer screen...

http://www.handdrawngames.com/DesktopTD/Game.asp

LOL, seems like this become a favourite pastime game for them now. Quite fun. Great game to kill time at office too. Hehee. Too bad, i cant play it while on site. :)

Bike Rally 2009!

Yay, managed to find a friend's house to stay overnight near ECP there. Dun need to sleep at east coast le. :) His parents showed too much hospitality to me, as a guest, even though i will only sleep there for a merely few hours. Hmm, maybe taiwanese pple are more hospitable? ;) At 5am, start to walk over to ECP from there. At the registration booth, saw Zhicheng, Melvin and kok siong too! Haha. Never know that they joined too. :) Also met and knew a few new friends of wenjie and mango too. haha, they sure are fun pple! :)

7 am we set off. Can imagine a huge scene and the attention we get where 300 plus pple cycle at the same time. Cycling on public roads is a new experience. We had to follow traffic rules just like any other drivers. We also had to constantly look out for vehicles on our blind side. Dunno this time are we scared of vehicles OR the vehicles scared of us. HAha. Somemore, due to this event, we have one lane of the road to ourselves and one police officer following us, helping to "clear" the way for us. hehe. :) A bit tiring is that, we had to stop everytime the traffic light turns red. It distrupts our momentum, especially after stopping, and u need to pick up the speed again. Its even tougher when its a upslope . Sometimes, we just 干脆闯红灯!:D And because of these traffic lights, one big group is spilt into several smaller groups and so on..

Along the way from ecp to ntu, are mostly crowded roads and many traffic lights. By the time we reached NTU SRC(2nd checkpoint only), my buttocks and legs already hurt like hell. =.= We had cycled only abt 40+km and 80+ km to go. Ahh..thats like 2/3 of journey left. A BIT feel like giving up le~ :P At every checkpoint, we had snacks and drinks but not proper food like lunch. Lack of "food motivation" :( Next on the way up north to kranji checkpoint, the scenery view is much nicer! Got pass by Muslim cemetery, Chinese cemetery(if u r scared, tat gives u more motivation to cycle faster!), poultry farm(With a signboard that says:" Cycle FASTER to AVOID the stench!) and vegetable farms. And the best view of all, the kranji beach! :D Along the way, there are few cars but seemingly endless roads. We can only see rows and rows of lamposts that seemed to stretch infinitely... When is the next checkpoint?

Next checkpoint is at Yishun stadium. Dislike this part of journey the most.(mandai road?) So many ups and downs. This is also the time where i "played" around with my gear the most. Peak after peak. there are some parts where pple just get off their bikes and pushed them up the slope instead of struggling with gear 1. Smart choice! After all, we need to conserve energy. We still have a long way to go.. By the time we reached yishun stadium, melvin already set off to the next checkpoint. Wow..hes fast! By this time, i already half dead le...Once i sat down, dun feel like getting up le. :( Legs and buttocks aching like hell... YISHUN STADIUM! So TEMPTED to just turn around and go home....

Next is our 5th checkpoint, at Serangoon Stadium. This is where Disaster Struck. About halfway, it starts to drizzle and then raining HEAVILY. Damn. We rested at a bus stop and waited a while. I and mango still continued for a while until that the rain is so heavy that it is almost impossible to see and cycle. Because, for those not wearing specstacles, the rain will keep hitting ur face and eyes as u cycle at a fast speed, making u almost impossible to open ur eyes and see where u cycling, especially for mango. It can be very dangerous. However... i still continued without him. After all, i was already wet, what for being a bit more wetter?

At first i can still find a few other fellow cyclists to cycle with me along the rain. But as we cycled, either they give up and stop at the bus stops, or they are too fast and disappeared within my line of sight. Somemore, the rain got worse at this time that visiblity is very low. Worse, i WAS ALONE. I dont deny that that was PANIC in me now. To continue or not? I am not afraid to continue cycle in the rain, the worse thing is that i afraid i will GET LOST. 进退两难. What will u do if u are me? By this time, some of the road marshals along the way are also gone, seeking shelter. That left only the road signs that they posted. My only GUIDE. If i missed one, THATS IT.

I cycled for some time and feels a bit regretted. The rain keeps hitting me until i had a HARD time opening my eyes and see the way. At last, i stopped at a shell station. 2 other cyclists are there too and they are also waiting for transport to fetch them to next checkpoint. Luckily, they knew this area very well and knows where is the next checkpoint. Sorry, i not the one to "sit down and wait" type, especially when i was already halfway through. I decided to take the risk and continue. ..

And...i AM lucky. Along the way, the signboards lead the way. Cant help thinking how USEFUL they really are until now! *feels like hugging the lampost with the signboard attached to it* Further on, and to my surprise, i saw a couple of marshals standing in the heavy rain, holding a umbrella shouting "Go STRAIGHT!" Words cant describe my gratitude! Really GRATEFUL to them! *Salutes!* Seeing them is like SEEING LIGHT. REALLY. Somemore, along the way, there are also trapped cyclists seeking shelter at the bus stops who shouted: "加油!" to me as i cycled past them. Great motivation! :D Once in a while, i can see a few cyclists who cycled past me too. Now i know, i am NOT ALONE. :D:D:D Cant imagine how happy i was when i saw the signboard:"Next checkpoint 3km" :) When i finally reached the stadium, the rest were already there. They are sooo dry, man. Seems like i am the only CRAZY one to cycle in the rain. (garang!) =D

While waiting for the never ending rain to stop, we decided to go over to the nearby kopitiam to eat our proper lunch: Botak Jones! :D Hehee...our "reward". The organisers decided to send us back to ecp by bus. We are still allowed a choice to continue cycling from changi checkpoint to ecp but it was already almost 6pm, so late. No point. Those who cycled faster like Melvin before the rain poured are able to complete the race. Therefore our 5th checkpoint became our last checkpoint. Haiz. Dunno should i be happy or not. I had only cycled about 80+km instead of 128km. At ECP, we waited for anticipation for the lucky draw, hoping we can at least struck "rich" here. :):):) But just like what zhicheng says, "whats yours is yours". The first prize goes to a friend of one rsphi senior. Wow. A bike worth $900+! Never mind, we still reward oursleves with a hearty dinner at Carl's Juniors. Haha. :D Next year, lets join bike rally! ;)

Well, this concert is finally here and i had to 捧场 cause my sis is performing in it. Oh well, i got such a hard time to find people to accompany me to go sia. In the end, managed to find one person to accompany me. My sis and her knew each other in primary school but they barely talked and lost contact after that. Now i am the bridge to connect them again. Come to think of it...if i dun say to her that my sis is performing and wishes to talk to her, i doubt she will come for the concert too. lol. Well, at least after the concert, the two managed to chat with each other once again after so many years... What does it feel like to meet a old friend after so many years? :)

Hmm. Today my ntu tutor CAME LATE. Guess he got lost or wat. My IA colleague and I were waiting inside the vistors room for over an hour for him. She was like so anxious, keep asking where he is and turning her head here and there to look for him every now and then. "IS that he?... oops sorry NO." "Oh i think hes in that cab....chey. Not him" "Or maybe he was here and upstairs already?" HAha, at first i said she was very paranoid leh but she argued that she was an impatient person only. Hate waiting for people. . NOt paranoid.

When my tutor finally reached, its time for a "friendly" talk between us and my office supervisor. Haha, turned out that my supervisor was the one talking on our behalf. I can only NOD in agreement to whatever he said. (Good for us ma, what he said to my tutor were good words.) And then there was this assessment forms to be filled in by my supervisor which is to be handed in to my ntu tutor in privately and SEALED. My colleague took a sneak peek and saw out of a scale of 1 to 5, she saw several "3"s ticked for us. hmm...neutral?okay okay only? hmm, and i thought he was a "kind" and "generous" person... haha. Nevermind, its still too early to say... still got 12 more weeks of IA to go...a long way ahead... :(

不自不觉..already the 10th week of my IA. Close to midway of my IA term le. hmmm...what had i learnt? haha, i think i already learnt what i already can le. Unless my supervisor posted me elsewhere again. haiz. Tmr my ntu tutor coming down to "spotcheck" le...dunno what and how to face him. What if he asked me what i had learnt so far?(should i answer: I know VIVO inside out le! thats a great accomplishment! =X) HAha, cannot...must "smoke" over it....

Got 2 new poly IA posted to site with me and my buddy too. Great! Have new company le!At least i no need to eat lonely lunch anymore! :D Still remember the first day when i saw them. They were SO quiet. Must be feeling "sianz" that they posted to site. After a few more chats, then i found out thay they are perfect 宅男!Both likes to stay at home watch tv all day long, dun like to go out. And i though poly pple are very "wild" and active de...hmm... But they are certainly fun pple! hehee... Too bad they are only here for 7 weeks...argh. They come and leave and i WILL still be here doing IA. :(

Signed up for the insane 128km ntu bike rally this sunday. Wonder what make me signed up in the first place sia. =/ Just got the briefing details from mango. Well, there are so many hidden costs leh. Need to buy rubber tubings, helmet, bicycle kit etc. To make matters worse, reporting time is at 530am at ECP. Oh my... NOT EVEN any bus or first train opeartes SO early. How to go from my home? :(:(:( I can only think of camping overnight at changi airport then go straight from there. Hopefully can reach there in time this way. Then i discover a SERIOUS problem. The only bus 401, accessible to there from bedok interchange, first bus is at 10am!!!!! #$%^&*&%$#! 难道你要我露宿街头,在east coast park 过夜?alamak....H.O.W?

SPARKZ 2009

*JUMBO!~ fly fly fly...*

*elephants on a bridge..*

Sparkz 09...this year is the first time Farrago is joining. The whole program just reminded me of KiDs World, cause its very similiar. But sparks here got many big "kids" lehz. Haha, very few whose age are less than 10. My group got one brother and sister. Especially the sister, so CUTE...the "star" of our group. Hee. :)
*our "star" and her fake "bf"...*
And one of the tutees in my group...so HARD to understand his signing...Only his tutor, Yongni can understands. Cause he used his OWN way of signing...or rather CREATE his own way of signing. Zzz..

*Yn and her tutee...the way her tutee sign"ghost"...looks like bird flying..-_-*

During the afternoon, it rained heavily. Sort of disrupt the flow pf programs but the "survive till the end" game proved to be a "high" game. Everyone seems to enjoy that game!~ I liked Wen long's style of playing! Slow and steady(说难听点,就是玩臭 haha), and the way he wear his shirt and expression, so comical! :)

*our dear pro*

After the rain stopped , they continue with the water bomb game, "the final clash". Well, and i thought i am able to "escape" by not playing. :P The "battle scene" is so intense, i also cant remember much except seeing me being surrounded by so many people(at least got 2 groups of pple) and "bombarded" by so many water bombs. Dunno is their aim lousy or wat, i keep having water bombs thrown on me directly. Got one water bomb hit me directly on my head or face lo. Got a feeling its either wh or mango who did that. =.= Or maybe both. Haha.

After dinner, everyone got their goodie bags. And WOW. GOOD stuff leh. popular vouchers somemore! $_$ (if i knew earlier, should have taken more.. =X ) Later, a big group of pple went to island creamery to eat icecream. 3 types of groups there. the juniors, our batch and the 老人帮". Haha, zq even commented that the farrago juniors are SO HIGH. lol. Yeah, at least better than our batch. lol. Benjamin also there, haha, now then i know wat a funny person he was. He and ellie have so much 默契! Ellie also 配合 so well with ben! Still rmb the Himalayan mountains and the "flag" joke! SO CHILL! =.= Ellie ah, 佩服!佩服! And ... the way ben talks and his "expressions+acting" reminded me so much like yf. No wonder they can be in same ss group. lols.

Vivocity

Vivo...think can consider my second "home" le...been here so numerous times. Cause its so near to my working place, PSA. Been exploring this whole stretch too.. to the extent a bit "sick' of it. HAha. Come to think of it, vivo isnt really very big as long u know where u going and what you are looking for. There are some fun places thouigh...that i like. :) Hehee.

National Geographic
A shop selling traveller's stuff, and got a lot of paintings and photographs. A national geographic tour indeed. Photographs of various wildlife animals like the different kinds of frogs. Paintings of the various people and culture of different countries. Have a walk once there, and u will feel so "大开眼界". HAha. There is even an artificial "freezing chamber" to stimulate the extreme cold weather on the high altitude of mountains. Temperature is -5 degree celsius. However, only one person is allowed inside at one time and once a person goes in, the next person will have to wait for half a hour before his turn. Can try it if u dun mind waiting. hoho.

PageOne
Its a bookstore, but to me, its a library. It sells books and magazines but the good thing is that for every book and magazine, there is a open copy. Which means free for browsing. No time limit. Haha, yes! One of my favourite hangout places. Sure kills time quickly by reading. :)

BEST DENKI
This is where all the entertainment comes in. Under teh GAME WORLD section, there are free console games to try out, like guitar hero, racing stimulation with all the equipment, XBOX, PSP and even nintendo DS. And as again, its open to public to try out the games. hmm. great place to hang out too. :)

Pet Safari
At the topmost floor, there is a pet shop. Besides selling pet items, they also display animals like dogs in various glass cells. For the first few times u see, u find that they are cute. As u see them longer and more frequent, i feel pity for them. Every now and then u go to the same shop and u see the same animals again, that means one thing isnt it? they are not sold out to owners. how long more must they be kept in such a cornered cell? It feels even sad to sense that they are just there for show, for pple to view only...

At the highest floor, near the daisou,, there is a aquarium...and to my surprise found 2 arowanas. One black and one white. If my dad sees it, he will be so happy. He loves Arowana so much. Can know it...cause he kept 3 in our home. One even stayed with us for more than 10 years le... :D Home treasure!

FOOD

Food in vivo itself is generally expensive, even the food courts such as kopitiam and banquet. Went in there once to eat and i swore never to go there to eat again. One malay mixed rice meal can costs me $6! i am not ordering fastfood leh... Luckily across the road, got a food centre, at the bsu interchange there. Popular dishes there got the $2 nasi lemak, 鱼片米粉, tom yum noodles, nice vegetarian food at around $3. Can try the malay teh tarik too! :) Just that it always get too crowded and cant find seats at lunchtime.

Harbourfront Centre
Always get neglected and overlooked place. MAybe its too near to vivocity and thus pple seldom noticed it and go there. Not much to see too, except for the 2 big models of the luxury cruise ships. There is a Dragon gate restaurant well hidden in one of the floors. Went there to eat before, especially its dim sum buffet. Nice! Must order its dessert. :)

At one end....are the cable cars...

While the other end is my workplace and SENTOSA...So near yet so Far...
